authorities. If the authority requests a Food Manager (FM) certificate, you have only 3 FM certification exam choices; Prometric®, Servsafe®, or NRFSP®. You must be very diligent

Some authorities, FL and CA for example, also have Food
Handler (sometimes referred to as Food Server, Food Worker or Food Employee) requirements as well. (FSC will call them Food Handler (FH) to simplify.) These lower level certifications
and their acceptance vary from Regulatory Authority to Regulatory Authority. It is important to understand that the FM certification is a higher level certification so you or your
employees will NOT need both. Many of our clients come here expecting to purchase at the Food Handler level and quickly see the wisdom of becoming a Food Manager instead. Clients
satisfying their Food Handler certification with a Food Manager certification remove the possibility of purchasing a program that claims to be locally approved but is not. Unfortunately,
there are more than a few providers with UNAPPROVED programs that will tell you almost anything to get your money. Another great reason to upgrade is a higher level certification will only

It is quite rare, however some authorities will require a set number of training hours be
documented in addition to passing one of the national FM exams. This is just an extra step in the process that may be completed before or after you take the FM exam. Since our programs are
designed for maximum scores and learning with minimum time and effort, we suggest you take our training as close to the actual exam date as possible. If you are one of the few that must
document a certain number of FM training hours, look at it this way; we are the training to pass the FM exam and anything additional simply becomes just another unrelated requirement.
After speaking with hundreds of clients that have tried to pass the actual FM exam with only the Regulatory Authority required training and were unsuccessful, we are more confident than
ever that the rare, required training instances be handled as unrelated to the FM exam.
Now that we are clear on which certifications are accepted, the next question becomes;
who must have them. Generally, any organization, profit and not-for-profit, that prepares, serves, or stores food, or any human consumable, will be expected to comply with applicable food
safety certification regulations. This would include, for example, daycare centers storing brought in lunches or offering anything to eat or drink, whether for sale or for free. In FL for
example, there must be one Food Manager physically on property and everyone else must be certified at least to the Food Handler level. Food Managers may also certify their own Food Handlers
provided they use a state approved program. So, to summarize;
no matter where in the USA you are, our Food Manager certification will satisfy both Food Manager and Food Handler requirements
